This weekend saw the amazing event Ventact back on site in Kilcully. With youth members, staff and visitors the site was packed to capacity. As always Friday evening saw runs to the train and bus station to collect people travelling from the four corners of Ireland. Once tents were pitched the mania that is ticket distribution began at midnight and the resulting ticket swopping got on in earnest. Then Saturday the traditional tones of Robin Williams spread out with Good Morning Vietnam which was the signal for everyone to get up and out and be ready to head off site to 14 different locations like Smugllers cover, Ballyhas and Glen Resource to name but a few. Weary bodies arrived back on site to scrub up, eat up and get ready for the scouts own which was attended by the Lord Mayor of Cork, The Chief Scout and other officers of scouting and guiding in Ireland. This was followed by the annual disco. Tired heads settled down for sleep then on Sunday morning the sounds of zumba were to be heard shaking the last of the sleep away. As usual a great event and the organising committee are to be commended for all the effort they put in to running an excellent event.
