Tree Planting at Kilcully

In 1979, the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Brian Sloane, visited Kilcully and planted a tree in the campsite’s grove.

He was joined by Scouts and representatives of Kilcully, including Camp Chief Aidan McCarthy, as the tree was planted during the official visit.

Tree planting would continue to play an important part in the development of Kilcully over the decades, helping to shape the wooded campsite familiar to generations of Scouts today.
