Concert in aid of Marymount Hospice held in Kilcully

Concert

In 1995, Kilcully provided the setting for a special concert in aid of Marymount Hospice, bringing together Scouting, Guiding and the wider Cork community for a very worthwhile cause.

The concert featured St Michael’s Brass Band and was organised by members and friends of the Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland. Members of the Catholic Girl Guides also played their part, helping patients from Marymount during their visit to Kilcully.

The occasion showed another side of life at the campsite. Kilcully was not simply a place for camping, competitions and Scout training, but a facility that could also be used to support the wider community.

For the Scouts, Guides, musicians, volunteers and visitors who gathered there, the concert combined music and friendship with support for an organisation that has played an important role in caring for people and families throughout Cork.
